Vita Magna Counseling, Coaching & Consulting, PLLC helps Catholic and Christian men build non-reactive confidence and lead their marriages and families on principle instead of anxious autopilot. Through the lens of Bowen Family Systems Theory (BFST), James Van Matre, MS, LPC — Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas and Bowen-based coach and consultant serving clients nationwide and internationally — works with men on anger and emotional reactivity, marriage and in-law dynamics, and the generational or family-of-origin patterns behind them. Counseling is available in person in Houston Heights and virtually across Texas; coaching and consulting are available anywhere. At its heart, the goal is always the same: greater psychological and emotional maturity — what Bowen called differentiation of self — the capacity to stay connected to the people who matter most without losing yourself to them.
